Compliance…

Compliance is central to all of our smoke ventilation designs, but we always endeavour to deliver compliance in the most cost-effective way for our clients.

JCR are an accredited member of the IFC SDI 19 scheme, which was primarily launched to ensure competency regarding the design, installation, servicing and maintenance of smoke ventilation systems.  Members are annually subject to independent auditing of both their office and site based activities, combined with competency assessment of operatives and supervisors.

We therefore implement best practice from receiving a client’s initial enquiry to final sign off and certification, with a core focus on system selection, products, function and quality.

All our design input adheres to:

  • Approved Document B of the Building Regulations 2010
  • BS7346 -8
  • BS9999
  • BS9991 and other known associated standards and guidance documents

Installation

After the design stage has been agreed and verified, JCR is able to carry out the smoke ventilation system installation as an IFC SD1 19 Certified installation company.

Each client is assigned a project manager for smooth communication and effective coordination of the various trades that contribute to a successful contract installation.

The project manager works closely with their team of engineers, ensuring an accurate interpretation of design drawings.  Together their flexible and adaptable approach allow for any fast paced alterations that may occur, whilst always safeguarding the original design intent.

Completion

Upon completion, all handover documentation and certification compliant to BS7346-8, Approved Document B, BS9991, will be issued for final approval by the relevant Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

Once installation and system commissioning are complete, a full demonstration and handover to the building management team can be provided.
